Aarti Drugs (AARTIDR), a pharmaceutical company, manufactures and sells bulk drugs and specialty chemicals worldwide. Part of the USD 265 million Aarti group, the company was incorporated on Sept. 28, 1984 as a private limited company and went public on July 1, 1992. Chandrakant V. Gogri is the chairman, and the managing director is Prakash M. Patil.
The company focuses on the anti-diarrhea, anti-inflammatory therapeutic groups. With eight manufacturing facilities in Tarapur and Sarigam, the company manufactures vitamins, anti-arthritis, anti-fungal, antibiotics, ACE inhibitors, anti-diabetic, anti-cholinergic, sedatives and anti-depressant drugs. It has products like Aceclofenac, Metronidazole, Ketoconazole, Ciprofloxacin HCl and Metformin HCl to name a few. The company has already commissioned and made operational its new multipurpose manufacturing facility strictly designed and built in accordance with USFDA requirements.
The manufacturing-units of ADL are GMP certified. The Company is also in the process of acquiring an ISO 9002 compliance for all units with one already approved. ADL has developed a state-of-the-art R&D center in Turbhe, Mumbai. It also have two inbuilt supporting R&D centers within the manufacturing sites which all are well recognized by Department of Science and Industrial Research, Government of India. Suyash Laboratories is a subsidiary of the company. The company has a joint venture Huanggang Yinhe Aarti Pharmaceutical Company to sell its drug ingredients in China.
The company is engaged in contract manufacturing and has developed anti-fouling agents. The company exports to more than 85 countries with clients like Sanofi?Aventis, Merck, ..etc. The registered office is at Plot No. N-198, MIDC, Tarapur, Pamtembhi village, Palghar taluka, Thane-401506, Maharashtra and corporate office at Mahendra Industrial Estate, Ground floor, Road No. 29, Plot No. 109-D, Sion (East), Mumbai-400022.
Financials
The company disclosed fall of 23.45% in standalone net profit on y-o-y basis to Rs 51.90 million, while total income dropped 9.62% y-o-y basis to Rs 1.08 billion for the quarter ended September 2010.
