Alkyl Amines Chemicals (ALKYLAM), incorporated on Oct. 17, 1979, is a manufacturer and supplier of amines, amine-based chemicals, and industrial gas. Along with its partner the S. Amit Group, Alkyl Amines Chemicals has a controlling stake in Diamines and Chemicals, a manufacturer of ethylene amines.
The ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 certified company manufactures and markets aliphatic amines, amine derivatives, fine and specialty chemicals, and hydrogen for the pharmaceutical, agro, water treatment, photography, rubber, paints and dyes, and other industries. Contract manufacturing services cover a wide range of technology and product development, scale-up, and custom manufacturing support to clients in the agrochemical, pharmaceutical and specialty chemical industries including custom synthesis, contract R&D, and other services. The bioprocess division conducts R&D in the field of industrial biotechnology.
The manufacturing plants are located at Patalganga, close to Mumbai and Kurkumbh near Pune, which houses the company`s R&D center. The installed capacities are 32,500 MTPA specialty chemicals and 4.8 million cubic meters industrial gas. A co-generation power plant has been set up at Kurkumbh to meet the captive power and steam requirement with the use of bagasse and coal as fuel. At Patalganga, a new boiler project will use coal as fuel instead of fuel oil. These projects would entitle the company to sell certified emission reduction credits under the Kyoto protocol generating additional income.
The company is a marketing representative for Degussa and Rohm & Haas for specialty chemicals. It caters to the domestic as well as international markets. Alkyl Speciality Chemicals is a 100% subsidiary specializing in market development of specialty chemicals.
