Burnpur Cement is a private sector cement company. It was incorporated as a private limited company on Jun. 19, 1986 and subsequently converted into a public limited company with the present name on Nov. 12, 2001.
The 9001:2000 certified company manufactures portland slag cement at its plant in Asansol, West Bengal with a 1,000 TPD cement manufacturing capacity. The company has tied up with ThyssenKrupp Industries India for setting up a 800 TPD (expandable to 1,600 TPD) cement plant in Patratu, Jharkhand at a total investment of INR 5,000 million. The first phase would be complete at an investment of INR 1,200 million by 2008. The new facility would manufacture clinker, ordinary portland, portland puzzolana and portland slag cement.
The company markets cement to Eastern Coalfields, Burn Standard Company, Netaji Engineering College, Zilla Parishads, Government of West Bengal, West Bengal Essential Commodities Supply Corporation, Teesta Water Resources Division, Nicco Corporation, ITD Cementation, Bengal Greenfield Housing Development Company, Paharpur Cooling Tower, and the Government of Jharkhand to name a few. The new facility would cater to the Eastern, North Eastern and Nepal regions.
The registered office of the company is located at Cement house, Saradapally, Ashoknagar P.O. Asansol-713304, Burdwan district, West Bengal.
