Cosmo Films (COSMOFILMS) produces bi-axially oriented polypropylene films (BOPP) that has applications in packaging and electronic sectors. The company was incorporated on Oct. 7, 1976. The chairman and managing director is Ashok Jaipuria.
The company offers products like transparent films, including plain release films, plain print lamination films, plain tape films, heat-sealable printing/pouching films, heat-sealable metallizable/metallized films and heat-sealable overwrap films; pigment films, including pearlized and white films used in general purpose printing, pouching, snack food and confectionary packaging, ..etc.; and specialty films, consisting of anti-fog films, holography films, pressure-sensitive films, wrap-around films, in-mold films, high-barrier films, soap-wrap films, matte films, silky-matte films and extrusion-coatable and dry thermo lamination films. The current installed capacity is 76,000 MT per annum for BOPP films and 20,000 MT per annum of extrusion coated dry/thermal lamination films. It has its manufacturing units in Maharashtra and Gujarat.
Accreditations include ISO 9000, ISO 14001 and certification for safety and hygiene of food-related products from American Institute of Baking (AIB) and British Retail Consortium (BRC). At its Waluj campus, the company has its own captive power plant of 8 MW. Major awards include PFFCASTAR 2005. In recognition of excellence for thermal lamination BOPP/BOPET film in the category of product development and new structures. In a FORBES survey, the company has been recognized as one of the best 200 companies out of 19,000 listed companies with revenue of less than 1 Billion USD outside US.
Marketing offices are in Delhi, Baroda, Aurangabad, Mumbai, Hyderabad, and Chennai. Major exports are to Europe and US and also to Latin America, Australia, Middle East, Russia, Ukraine, ..etc.
