Incorporated on Dec. 6, 2006, in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, Orient Green Power Company is an independent renewable energy-based power generation company focused on developing, owning and operating a diversified portfolio of renewable energy power plants.
The promoters of the company are Shriram EPC, Shriram EPC (Singapore) Pte (SEPC) and Orient Green Power Pte, Singapore (OGPP).
The company`s operating wind farms are located in the states of Tamil Nadu and Andhra Pradesh.
As of March 31, 2010, the company`s total portfolio of operating projects included 193.10 MW of aggregate installed capacity, which comprised 152.60 MW of wind energy projects and 40.50 MW of biomass projects. Its portfolio of committed and development projects included approximately 815.50 MW of prospective capacity, which comprised an estimated 622.0 MW of wind energy projects, 178.50 MW of biomass projects and a 15.0 MW small hydroelectric project.
