The company, promoted by JMFICS (JM Financial & Investment Consultancy Services Private Limited), engages directly or indirectly in the business of share and stock broking, finance broking, underwriting of securities including shares, debentures, etc. It also provides investment banking and trust and asset management services.
The company is curently restructuring its businesses that involves setting up five separate wholly-owned subsidiaries for securities broking, commodities trading, insurance broking, insurance trading and NBFC businesses. The company has formed IL&FS Investsmart Asia Pacific in Singapore to tap the opportunities in that region.
The company has lined up Rs 400-500 million investment programme during FY 06 to expand its branch network, set up operations in Far East and take a membership with the Dubai Gold Exchange. The company also plans to enter into insurance business. As part of a restructuring process, it has set up JM Financial Commtrade, a commodity trading and broking company. In addition, it plans to float a private equity arm, JM Financial Investment Management, to manage other investment activities. |
