Kitply Industries Ltd., engaged in the business of Manufacture and sale of plywood, particle boards, sawn timber and sugar , was incorporated in 1982, under the name, Sudershan Plywood Industries Private Ltd. (a leading company of the S.P. Goenka Group) , in Assam. It started off with the manufacturing of various grades of plywood black boards, flush doors, technical grade speciality plywood, etc.
It has its manufacturing facilities at Assam, Aurnachal Pradesh and Nagaland and a laminate plant at Igatpuri in Maharashtra. It also diversified into the production of sugar by setting up a new sugar factory at Rupapur, Tehsil Shahabad, Hardoi. Four Calcutta-based groups - Emami, Khaitan, Kitply and Titagarh Industries have joined hands to float a business-to-business electronic procurement portal www.MatManage.com. Kitply had also started plantations, a charity hospital and a commercial naturopathy clinic.
The company has gone according to needs of market and have developed technology to manufacture electrical grade high density plywood, chequered plywood and fire-resistant plywood-a new concept in the field of plywood, Kitply Gold, the anti-borer marine plywood. The industry grew from Rs 1,000 crore to 5,000 crore in the last decade. Kitply has 24 offices in the country and a network of 1000 dealers. |
