Nectar Lifesciences (NECLIFE) is a composite pharmaceutical organization principally involved in active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs) and finished dosage forms. It was incorporated on June 27, 1995 as Surya Medicare and got its current name on March 26, 2004.
The company manufactures active pharmaceutical ingredients that include cephalosporin and semi-synthetic penicillin (SSP) range of oral and sterile bulk drugs. Cephalosporin products include cephalothin sodium, cefazolin sodium, cefprozil, cefuroxime axetil, etc. SSP products include cloxacillin sodium, dicloxacillin sodium, flucloxacillin sodium, oxacillin sodium, etc. The company offers sterile APIs through both lyophilization and crystallization processes. The company offers phyto-chemicals like menthol and derived products through Nectar Menthol and has ventured into the manufacture of hard gelatin capsules. .
Nectar Lifesciences is ISO 9001:2000 certified and offers services like formulation development, lyophilization cycle development, cGMP manufacturing including formulation, filling and lyophilization, labeling and packaging, QC testing, stability studies, and regulatory support. It has a state-of-the-art R&D wing with a team of 40 professionals who have developed and commercialized technologies like ceftazidime buffered with sodium carbonate and cefepime hydrochloride buffered with arginine.
The manufacturing facilities are located in Derabassi, Punjab and Baddi, Himachal Pradesh. The company has already invested USD 25 million in new facilities and allocated USD 15-20 million in facilities to be completed in 2007. The finished dosage forms facility has installed capacity of 150 million tablets, 150 million capsules, 15 million dry oral suspension and 30 million injectables. The nectar menthol division has a manufacturing capacity of 250 MT of menthol crystals and 150 MT of menthol flakes.
