Nalwa Sons Investments (NALWA) is a registered non-banking finance company with an asset size in excess of Rs 1 billion. It was incorporated as a private limited company on Nov. 18, 1970 and converted into a public limited company on May 25, 1975. Earlier known as Jindal Strips, the company got its present name on May 30, 2005. It is part of the O.P. Jindal group, a multi-billion, multi-locational, multi-product business empire with business interests in producing sponge iron, ferro alloys, hot-rolled and cold-rolled steel products, coated pipes, galvanized steel, and power. Jindal Saw, Jindal United Steel Inc. (USA), Saw Pipes Inc. (USA), JSW Steel, Jindal Thermal Power Company, South West Port, Jindal Praxair Oxygen Company, Southern Iron and Steel Company, Jindal Stainless, Jindal Stainless Steelway, Jindal Steel & Power, and Jindal Power are other group companies.
The company holds significant investments in equity shares of the Jindal Group and other steel companies. These investments are long-term strategic investments with a view to achieve substantial value enhancement for the benefit of shareholders at large. In FY07, the company earned an income of Rs 268.1 million by way of dividend, interest and other income.
