Orient Paper & Industries Limited Company Profile
Orient Paper & Industries Ltd. (OPIL), incorporated in 1939, produces W&P paper, craft paper and boards, high-quality writing and printing paper, paper for photocopying, and tissue paper besides cement and electric fans. OPIL belongs to the Birla group. The company diversified into cement in 1982. In 1995, Orient General Industries Ltd., a wholly owned subsidiary, was merged with the company. After this merger, Orient entered into electric fans business. It also diversified into pollution control equipment. It set up a 300-tonnes per day paper unit in Kenya in collaboration with Government of Kenya and International Finance Corporation. . It has paper plants at Amlai producing wide range of writing, printing, industrial and speciality papers.
