Parekh Aluminex (PARAL), incorporated in 1994, is a manufacturer and exporter of aluminum foil containers (AFC), aluminum foil rolls (AFR) and aluminum lids.
The ISO 9001:2000 and ISO 22000:2005 certified company is a leading name in AFCs in the sub-continent. It has about 83 molds to create products that can pack every solid, semi-solid and liquid eatable product in a hygienic and convenient way. It markets aluminum foils under the brand named ME. The two manufacturing units are located in the union territory of Dadra and Nagar Haveli with installed capacities of 1,537 casseroles, AFCs (casseroles/trays and containers/dishes), 33 million aluminum foils, and 587 million aluminum lids per annum. It has converted one of the existing units into an export-oriented unit to meet increasing export needs and to eliminate redundant export formalities.
Entering into an agreement with Hindalco, the company will process foil for the retail market against preferential rates for raw material. It has an agreement with ALCAN, one of the largest producers of aluminum in the world, to market AFC and AFR in Germany; and an agreement with the Danone group for the supply of AFC. It leads the domestic market with sales to institutional buyers including Air India, Indian Airlines, flight kitchens and hotels, and other sales through distributors. It exports products to the United Kingdom, Bahrain, Turkey, and in FY08, captured new the export markets of Greece, America, South Africa, Dubai and Germany. It has acquired a Singapore-based company DES along with its customer base and has added Etihad Airways, Emirates Flight Catering, Gulf Airways, Thai Airways, and Singapore Airlines among others as its customers. It bagged a large order from Air India for newly developed Teflon-coated AFCs.
