It is also associated with companies like Veritas, Silicon Graphics, Intel and Microsoft, among others. Tata Elxsi was incorporated in 1989 as a joint venture between Tata Industries and Tata Elxsi, Singapore to manufacture multi-processor based computer systems and components. The company has been in product design services since its inception. The 100,000-sq. ft. development center in Bangalore provides design services for both hardware and software. 20% of its personnel are Masters/Ph.D companies like CISCO, TI, Motorola, Hitachi, Canon, ..etc. are its clients. The company provides services for tool design, industrial design, graphic design and mechanical engineering. It has diversified into providing services in 2D and 3D graphics, animation, special effects and games. The company is one of the oldest systems integration services provider in India and develops total integrated solutions in areas of design, visualization, computer infrastructure and storage systems.
