Aarti Industries (ARTIIND), the flagship company of the Aarti Group, is a chemical manufacturing company involved in manufacturing benzene-based downstream and derivative products. It was incorporated on Sept. 28, 1984 and went public on Oct. 12, 1990. The chairman of the company is C.V. Gogri and Rajendra V. Gogri, the vice chairman and managing director. The company operates in the business segments of basic chemicals, specialty chemicals, agro chemicals and pharmaceuticals. Products include benzene-based intermediates, sulphuric acid and allied products, bulk pharmaceuticals, agrochemicals, dyes, and other intermediates and specialty chemicals like alkylated amines and toluidines, chloro phenols, fluoro compounds, ..etc. The company is among the largest producers of benzene based basic and intermediate chemicals in India. The group has manufacturing sites in Gujarat (Vapi, Sarigam and Jhagadia) and Maharashtra (Tarapur and Dombivli). The company has recently received ISO14001:2004 and OHSAS 18001:1999 from SGS for its Vapi unit and ISO-9002 for majority of its units. Subsidiaries include Aarti Healthcare, Aarti Corporate Services, Avinash Drugs and Alchemie Europe. Its associates include Ganesh Polychem, Surfactant Specialities, Nascent Chemical Industries and Anushakti Chemicals & Drugs. The company is to enter into a 50% joint venture with Sojitz Chemical Corporation to manufacture various specialty chemicals with applications in high growth markets such as polymers, additives, high purity electronic chemicals, ..etc. The company exports to manufacturers of dyes, pigments, pharmaceuticals, agrochemicals and rubber chemicals in countries such as USA, UK, Germany, Spain, Italy, Switzerland, Belgium, Japan, Korea, China, Russia among others. It also has representatives in USA & a subsidiary company in UK. The registered office is at Udyog Kshetra, 2nd Floor, Mulund Goregaon Link Road, Mulund (West), Mumbai?400080. Financials The company announced rise of 18.30% in standalone net profit on y-o-y basis to Rs 131.90 million, while total income climbed 6.65% y-o-y basis to Rs 3.31 billion for the quarter ended December 2010.
