Shilpi Cable Technologies Limited Company Profile

Shilpi Cable Technologies is a closely held public limited company incorporated in July 2006 and was formerly known as Rosenberger Shilpi Cable Technologies which was a 50:50 joint venture between Shilpi Communications Pvt Ltd (SCPL) and Rosenberger Hochfrequenztechnik GmbH & Co. KG, Germany, to take up the project of manufacturing Radio Frequency (RF) Cables. However in view of a dispute between them, the shares of Rosenberger were acquired by the Indian promoter in 2008 who are the present promoters of the company. The project started commercial production in January 2008 involving funded with equity of Rs 210 million and unsecured loans from Deutsche Bank to the tune of Rs 721.7 million. Later, the Deutsche Bank unsecured loan was liquidated out of Rs 490 million term loans from Karur Vysya Bank. On account of differences between JV partners the plant stopped production immediately after starting of January 2008 and could start the production in right earnest only in September 2008 after the completion of buyout process among JV partners. The sales could start on regular basis only from the month of Dec 2008. The company sells through multiple channels and is the approved vendor for telecom service providers like Tata, Vodafone etc selling directly to them. It also sells to companies like Ericsson, Huber+Suhner etc who are involved in the business of supplying complete tower equipment to telecom service providers. The sales are also made to infrastructure companies creating tower infrastructure/ in building solutions for telecom service providers.
