Alps Industries Limited Company Profile

Alps Industries was incorporated as a private limited company under the Companies Act, 1956 on May 11, under the name and style of Alps Textiles. The company was subsequently converted into a public limited company vide fresh certificate of incorporation. The company was later renamed as Alps Industries on Nov. 15, 1994. The company was promoted by K.K. Agarwal. The company is engaged in the manufacturing and export of home furnishings and selling its product range of venetian and vertical blinds, drapery rods, and other interior decorative and architectural items under the established brand name of `VISTA LEVOLOR`. The company has entered into an agreement with the textile department of Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Delhi for providing the technical assistance. In September 2005, the company raised Rs 457 million through a public issue and in March 2006 it raised USD 21.8 million through a GDR issue. The funds part-financed the company`s 50 tpd spinning plant at Haridwar and capex on two leasehold state-owned spinning units at Kashipur (25 tpd) and Jaspur (15 tpd) in Uttaranchal. Now, the company`s spinning capacity stands at 100 tpd. Further the company`s Jaspur spinning unit of 15 tpd has commenced operations. Recently, the company finalized plans to invest around Rs 4,000 million over the next 18 months to augment its spinning, weaving, processing and fabrication capacities as well as other related activities. Financials The company announced rise of 8.18% in consolidated net profit on y-o-y basis to Rs 472.18 million, while total income climbed 26.48% y-o-y basis to Rs 2.05 billion for the quarter ended December 2010.
