Amar Remedies (AMAR) manufactures and sells ayurvedic, herbal and cosmetic dental care, personal care, skin care and health care products like tooth paste, shampoo, cream and lotion. The company was incorporated on April 18, 1984 as a private limited company and got its current name on Sept. 6, 1995. The chairman of the company is P. Shah and Sagar Shah, the managing director. The company has branded its products under the name Amar, which include Amar Regular toothpaste, Amar tooth powder and Amar balm. It offers mint-flavored toothpaste in the active herbs formulation of neem, karanj, and babul. The company has manufacturing facilities in Surat, Daman and Dehradun. The Surat plant manufactures ayurvedic medicines with FDA approval for 25 ayurvedic and herbal products. It has a manufacturing capacity of 2,000 tons a month. The Daman factory manufactures FMHG products, ayurvedic medicines and various types of dental products with a monthly manufacturing capacity of 4,000 tons. The Dehradun facility has a capacity to manufacture 30 million toothpastes a month. The company has an ISO 9001:2000 certificate of compliance from International Certification Services (Asia) for its quality management system. It has won The International Star Award for quality in Paris. Various products of the company are exported to 10 countries across the globe from Europe through the Middle East and from Asia to the Far East countries. The registered office is at Block No 3, 2nd floor, Sane Guruji Premises, 386, S.V. Savarkar Marg, Opposite Siddhivinayak Temple, Prabhadevi, Mumbai-400025. Financials The company announced rise of 10.91% in standalone net profit on y-o-y basis to Rs 97.06 million, while total income rose 21.96% y-o-y basis to Rs 1.46 billion for the quarter ended March 2011.
