Amtek Auto (AMTEKAUTO), incorporated in 1985, manufactures auto components mainly for use in engine, transmission and suspension systems. It is part of the Amtek group, which has extensive manufacturing capabilities encompassing sub assemblies, iron, gravity and aluminum castings, forgings, flywheel assemblies, complex machining and ring gears across Asia, Europe and USA. Major categories of components include connecting rod assemblies, steering knuckles, suspension and steering arms, CV joints, crankshaft assemblies, aluminum case components and precision forgings for two-wheelers and four-wheelers. The company is a Tier-1 vendor and an OEM supplier to Maruti Suzuki, TVS Suzuki, Hero Honda, Mahindra & Mahindra, Tata Motors, Yamaha Motors, Bajaj Auto and several others. With manufacturing facilities spread across the country, the company has expanded auto components manufacturing capacity from 25 million units per annum to 28 million units per annum, forging capacity from 85,000 TPA to 115,000 TPA, and set up a 20,000 MTPA aluminum foundry near Pune. It has technical collaboration with Aizen, Japan, for manufacturing connecting rods; Ateliers Siccardi, France, for manufacturing throw crank shafts; and Halverscheidt, Germany, for the import of manufacturing facilities. Joint ventures are in place with Benda Kogyo, Japan, for manufacturing flywheel ring gears and flex plates; Material Forming Technologies, UK, for machining units; VCST Industrial Products, Belgium, for power-train components; Magna Powertrain, Canada, to establish a manufacturing facility outside Delhi for 2-piece automotive flexplate assemblies; and an MOU to set up a 50:50 joint venture with American Railcar Industries, USA, for railcar manufacturing. As on June 30, 2007, Ahmednagar Forgings, Pune; Smith Jones Inc., USA; Amtek Investments, UK; Amtek Ring Gears; Amtek Crank Shaft India; Amtek Deutschland GmBh, Germany; Amtek Investments US, Inc. are subsidiaries; and J.L. French`s (Witham) and Triplex-Ketlon Group based in the UK have been recently acquired. The registered office is located at Plot No 16, Industrial Estate, Rozka Meo (Sohna), Gurgaon-122103, Haryana. Financials The company announced rise of 47.02% in standalone net profit on y-o-y basis to Rs 623.50 million, while total income rose 49.08% y-o-y basis to Rs 5.07 billion for the quarter ended March 2011.
