Established in 1937, the company was incorporated as a private limited company in 1956 and converted into a public limited company in January 1975. The company manufactures automotive and industrial chains like motorcycle and moped chains, heavy duty chains, timing chains, and automotive kits under the popular brand name Rolon. The company manufactures around 650,000 motorcycle drive chain units and half a million cam chain units per month. It has metal forming processes like fine blanking, rolled strips and profiles; and in forging it has cold forging, warm forging and hot forging facilities. The company caters to the two-wheeler and automobiles industry and to industries including sugar, cement and steel apart from agricultural chains. Manufacturing units are located at Mysore and Bangalore in Karnataka, Pongalur, Annur, Ganapathy, Sengalipalayam, Gudalore, Vaiyampalayam, and Kottaipalayum in Tamil Nadu. The company is ISO 9001 and ISO/TS 16949 by Underwriters Laboratories Inc. USA. The company was ranked 15th as per total income in the Auto Components Sector in Dun & Bradstreet`s India`s Top 500 Companies 2006. Major OEM customers include Honda, Jacob & Muller, Larsen & Toubro, Bajaj, Tvs-Suzuki, Tata Motors, Brakes India, LML, Kinetic and Kawasaki.
