HT Media (HTMEDIA), a part of the KK Birla group, has a presence in the Indian print media and has several online portals. The company was incorporated on Dec. 3, 2002. The company is the promoter of Hindustan Times, one of India`s premier English dailies. Besides Hindustan Times, the company also publishes a Hindi daily Hindustan, the HT Next newspaper for the youth, the children`s magazine Nandan, and a women`s magazine, Kadambini. The company has an online presence with HindustanTimes.com, a news portal with over two million unique visitors; HindustanDainik.com, a news portal in Hindi; and HTNext.in, a portal for the youth. The company has 17 printing facilities across the nation with a total installed capacity of approximately 1.5 million copies per hour. Hindustan Times has editions from Delhi, Mumbai, Lucknow, Patna, Ranchi and Kolkata, with a circulation of over 1.2 million in Delhi. The Hindi daily Hindustan is the fourth largest read daily in India. The newspaper has editions in Delhi, Lucknow, Patna, Ranchi, Meerut, Agra, and Kanpur. The portals are run by independent editorial staff and generates revenue by advertisements. HindustanTimes.com has been ranked amongst the top 10 international news sites by Forbes. It has expanded into the electronic media through its subsidiary HT Music and Entertainment Company with its entry into the FM radio market in key Indian cities through a consulting partnership with Virgin Radio. It also plans to launch a national business newspaper with Wall Street Journal to publish journal-branded news and information in India. The company has acquired MediaWorks NZ in 2007.
