Norben Tea & Exports Limited Company Profile

Norben Tea & Exports (NORBEN), incorporated on May 14, 1990, is engaged in the cultivation, manufacture and sale of tea in India. Earlier known as Daga Plantations, it got its present name with effect from Apr. 29, 1994. The company has been promoted by Manoj Kumar Daga, a scion of the well known Daga family of Kolkata, who have been in the business of growing, manufacturing and marketing of tea for three generations. Operating through its three divisions of Berubari, Pareshnagar and Sakati, the company has extensive tea plantations on the foothills in the Darjeeling-Jalpaiguri region of high-yielding clones producing bright liquoring teas. It has established new tea plantations and a new factory in the traditional tea-growing area of Berubari in the Jalpaiguri district of West Bengal to manufacture tea with an installed capacity of 1.2 million Kg tea per annum. After the successful launch in bulk and consumer packs for retail consumption, the company entered into an arrangement with Arambagh Hatcheries for sale of Norben teas at Arambagh Food Mart outlets. It has already sent its teas for sale under the Tea Post Service of India Post and has initiated steps to start its own outlets with the application for its own small stalls at prominent places inside the Kolkata Metro Railway stations. It is a registered member of the Tea Board, the Tea Association of India (TAI), the Calcutta Tea Traders Association (CTTA) and the Siliguri Tea Auction Committee (STAC). It is suspended from the BSE on account of noncompliance with listing agreement clauses. The registered office is at Octavius Center, 15 B, Hemanta Basu Sarani, Kolkata-700001.
