Incorporated in March 1960, Phillips Carbon Black (PCBL) is part of the RPG group. It is not only the largest domestic manufacturer of carbon black, but it is also Asia?s largest exporter of Carbon Black. The company?s products are primarily used in the elastomer, plastic, paints, and ink manufacturing industries. It also operates a 12 MW co-generation power plant that generates power using the offgas. PCBL?s present installed capacity is 270,000 MTPA. The corporate office of the company is situated at Kolkata, India. Phillips Carbon Black sells carbon black to almost all tyre companies in the country. It is the world?s seventh largest manufacturer of carbon black. Its three plants account for 70 per cent of the country?s installed capacity. It is India?s largest exporter of carbon black. The company has a technical collaboration with Columbian Chemicals Corporation, USA. It is the only Indian manufacturer of carbon black to be accredited with ISO 9001 certification.
