PI industries (PIINDLT) is engaged in the business of agri inputs, fine chemicals (CRAMS), polymers and engineering services. Founded in 1947, it was earlier known as Pesticides India and was renamed PI Industries in 1993 to reflect its new diversified businesses. The ISO 9001:2000 certified company offers a one-stop shop for all customer requirements in fine chemicals ranging from process evaluation, bench scale trials, kilo lab, pilot plant to commercial manufacturing for various multinational companies from Japan, USA and Europe. Key business areas in agri inputs include crop protection, specialty products, plant nutrients and seeds. Engineering compounds of a large number of polymers like polycarbonates, macro porous polymer extraction products, polybutylene terephthalate, nylon, polypropylene, acrylonitrile butadiene styrene, styrene acrylonitrile polymers and elastomeric products like thermoplastic polyurethane, thermoplastic olefin and thermoplastic vulcanizates are offered along with a large range of customized grades like unfilled, glass fiber and bead reinforced, mineral-filled with flame retardant additives, and special grades like high heat-resistant and impact-modified grades. It has gained expertise in product development for automobile, electrical and electronics, appliances, white goods and other Industries. One of the leading companies in contract research and manufacturing services (CRAMS), the company has long-term tie-ups with leading chemical companies across the globe for newly invented products. Well equipped ISO 14001 and IS 18001 OHSAS certified manufacturing facilities are located at Udaipur in Rajasthan, Panoli in Gujarat, and Jammu in Jammu & Kashmir with captive power generation facilities. In FY07, the company launched SANIT (Metiram) and LEPIDO (Chlorfenapyr) in association with BASF. Agreements have been signed with two Japanese firms and an Italian firm for development of agrochemicals and specialty chemicals respectively. It has been restructured into six zones to focus on key products and increase market penetration across the country. PILL Finance & Investment and PI Life Science Research are subsidiary companies. The registered office is at Post Box No 20, Udaisagar Road, Udaipur-313001, Rajasthan.
