Ponni Sugars (Erode) Limited Company Profile

Ponni Sugars Erode (PONNISUG) is engaged in the manufacture of sugar and releases the byproduct bagasse for making paper. It was incorporated in 1996. The ISO 9001:2000 and ISO 14001:2004 certified company has its sugar manufacturing plant located in the Erode district of Tamil Nadu with an installed capacity of 2,500 MT per day. In FY07, the company achieved all-time high volumes in cane crushing, sugar production, and sales. This did not reflect in the profit margin due to a decline in the open market prices of both sugar and its by-products and has instead made a dent of over Rs 100 million to its bottom line. The registered office is located at Esvin House, 13, Seevaram Villa, Old Mahabalipuram Road, Chennai-600096.
