PVR Limited Company Profile

PVR (PVR) is engaged in running cinema exhibition multiplexes. It was incorporated on April 26, 1995 as a joint venture between Priya Exhibitors and Village Roadshow and got its current name on June 28, 2002. The company typically has auditoriums in multiplexes with a seating capacity of 150 to 450 seats each. The cinema halls feature wall-to-wall screens, state-of-the-art audio and projection technology such as three-way digital Dolby sound systems and Xenon projection systems, multi-station food and beverage stands, computerized ticketing systems, stadium seating and movie-themed interiors and exteriors. It has introduced the Cinema Europa and Gold Class cinemas, which offer greater comfort. As of August 2007, the company operates a total of 89 screens across 23 locations with presence in 14 cities in 9 states. It has various cinemas under development and has signed over 200 screens to be established across key markets in India. The PVR brand has been successful in entertaining 14.73 million moviegoers in 2006-2007. In October 2007, the company signed a memorandum of understanding with Gyan Enterprises to enter into a joint venture through a SPV called Lite Bite Concepts for the purpose of running, managing and operating food courts, restaurants, pubs, fast food centers, coffee shops and food joints in different formats, under its own brand(s) or under popular international brands. The company has PVR Pictures and C.R. Retail Mall (India) as subsidiaries. PVR Pictures is involved in the film distribution business with a 50:50 joint venture with K. Sera Sera for exclusive distribution rights in Delhi, Uttar Pradesh and Uttaranchal. The registered office of the company is located at 61, Basant Lok, Vasant Vihar, New Delhi-100057.
