Petron Engineering Construction (PETRON) is engaged in providing total solutions in engineering construction. It was incorporated as a private limited company on July 19, 1976 and converted into a public limited company on Oct. 31, 1994. The company operates through its five divisions of Construction, Pertron Mechanical Industries, Petrofab, Petrotech, and Rockwool Insulation providing services in mechanical, erection, piping, electrical, instrumentation, painting, refractory and insulation work for refineries, chemicals, petrochemicals, cement, fertilizers, metallurgical, power plants and other industrial plants. It provides feasibility study, procurement, estimation, and managerial and administrative support for project construction. In FY07, the company bagged orders from Madras Cements, Tamil Nadu for the erection, testing and commissioning of electrical and instrumentation equipment for its Ariyalur Project valued at Rs 60 million and supply of electrical and instrumentation materials for the project valued Rs 36.1 million; from Utility Energytech Engineers for the erection, testing, commissioning, trial operation and handing over of boiler proper for 2x300 MW Rosa Thermal Power Project (RTPP), Uttar Pradesh valued at Rs 389.9 million; from Reliance Energy for the erection, testing, commissioning, trial operation and handing over of boiler proper for 2x600 MW Hisar Thermal Power Project (HTPP), Haryana, valued at Rs 598.8 million; and a contract for fired heaters for HCU/DHDT for Bina refinery project developed by Bharat Oman Refineries for a contract value of Rs 1,270 million; among several other orders. Some of the company`s major Indian clients include ACC, TISCO, Grasim and Indian Oil. Some international clients include Ando Construction, Japan and National Cement, Dubai, with operations in Baharin, Jordan, Iraq, Kuwait, South Yemen, U.A.E, Reunion Islands and Sri Lanka.
