South Indian Bank (SOUTHINDBA) is a Kerala-based scheduled bank incorporated on Jan. 25, 1929. The bank provides complete banking solutions and also high tech services like global ATM card, mobile and enhanced Internet banking and anywhere banking facilities. It has implemented core banking services in all its branches. As on Sept. 30, 2007, the company had 485 branches, 27 extension counters and a network of 188 ATM centers. It has arrangements to distribute third party products like life and non life insurance products; specialized products for the agricultural sector like SIB Planters choice, which offers loans to agriculturists to purchase land and SIB Agriflex offering loans for land development. The bank has products for fast and easy transfer of money from abroad in association with UAE Exchange Company and Wall Street Finance. South Indian Bank has a presence in 23 states and union territories. On a year-to-year basis, the deposits have gone up by Rs.30,730 million from Rs.108,590 million to Rs.139,320 million registering a growth rate of 28.3% as on Sept. 30, 2007. The advances have increased by Rs.21,890 million from Rs.69,580 million to Rs.91,470 million with a growth rate of 31.46%. The bank bagged the Banking Technology Excellence Award From IDRBT for 2006. The registered office of the company is at SIB HOUSE, P.B. No.28, T.B. Road, Thrissur-680001, Kerala.
