India Cements (INDIACEM), incorporated in 1964, is South India`s largest cement producer. The group`s principal activity is to manufacture and market cement under the brand name Coromandel cement. It sells about 90% of its production in the Kerala and Tamil Nadu markets which are close to the company`s plants. It is a diversified company with interests in shipping, real estate development and wind energy. The company, with a market share of 28% in the South, aims to achieve a 35% market share in the near future. It has a strong distribution network with over 10,000 stockists of whom 25% are dedicated. The company`s plants are widely spread with three in Tamil Nadu and four in Andhra Pradesh, which cater to all major markets in South India and Maharashtra. Currently, it has an installed capacity of 9 million tons. The subsidiaries of the company are ICL Securities, ICL International, Industrial Chemicals & Monomers, and ICL Financial Services. The company has well-established brands; Sankar Super Power, Coromandel Super Power and Raasi Super Power.
