Emco, incorporated on May 15, 1965, is engaged in the manufacture of various types of transformers and meters, and undertakes turnkey project in the power sector. The ISO 14001 and OSHAS 18001 company offers the widest range of transformers upto 315 MVA, 400 KV for power generation, transmission and distribution, locomotive and traction transformers; state-of-the-art metering solutions like tamper-proof electronic energy meters, automatic meter reading solutions, prepayment metering solutions, high end metering, and total energy and revenue management solutions; offers turnkey solutions for large electrical substation projects and undertakes entire industrial electrification work; and offers IT solutions for power distribution management undertaking large distribution automation and sub-station automation projects. Through its international division, it offers transformers and energy meters confirming to the latest international specifications. Manufacturing plants of the company are located at Thane, Jalgaon in Maharashtra and Dadra in the Union Territory of Dadra & Nagar Haveli with an annual capacity of 1.3 million meters. In FY07, the company entered into a technical collaboration agreement with Baoding Tianwei Baobian Electric Co. for the manufacture of a diverse range of 400 KV class transformers. It entered into a joint venture partnership with Edison Power for manufacturing transformers in South Africa and marketing them in Africa. Some of the recent orders bagged by the company include a single prestigious order from Corporate Power in Jharkhand for a 400 KV double circuit/double strung transmission line on turnkey basis valued at Rs 920 million, and from MSETCL for the execution of three 400 KV new substations on turnkey basis at Bhusawal, Chakan and Khaparkheda valued at about Rs 3,250 million. Emco Energy is a subsidiary, and the company has acquired management control of Urja Engineers, a Baroda-based transmission line company. The registered office is located at N-104, MIDC Area, Jalgaon-425003, Maharashtra.
