It was incorporated on May 8, 1989 as a private limited company and subsequently converted into a public limited company on June 7, 1995. The chairman of the company is Vinod Kashyap and Vineet Kashyap, the managing director.
The company offers to undertake turnkey projects and construction of industrial facilities (automotive plants, biotechnology plants, food production facilities and newspaper printing facilities, etc), residential complexes, IT campuses, commercial complexes, hotels (luxury seaside resorts and super-luxury urban hotels), schools and colleges, retail/malls/multiplexes, hospitals, and real estate development. Its major projects include The Grand Great Eastern Hotel, Kolkota; Biocon research & manufacturing facility, Bangalore; Britannia biscuit plant, Uttaranchal; Carraro India factory and office complex, Pune; Escorts Heart & Research Institute, Faridabad; Jaipur Golden Hospital, New Delhi; Specialty Cardiac Center for Fortis Healthcare, Mohali; and many more.

It was ranked 249 on the Bangalore Times 500 list of India`s most valuable companies. Subsidiaries include BLK Furnishers and Contractors which is into furnishing and fit-outs, Soul Space Projects involved in residential construction activities, and Security Information Systems (India) dealing in supply, installation, commissioning, and servicing of integrated security information systems, building management systems, fire alarms, fire protection systems, access control and other security systems. Clients include IBM, Microsoft, Oberoi Hotels, Taj Hotels and Adobe Systems India, among others.
