The company has been jointly promoted by Vinod K Goenka and Shahid U Balwa, whose families have been in the real estate and allied businesses since the past 25 and 95 years, respectively. DB's interests span largely across residential, mass housing and cluster redevelopment, but predominantly in and around Mumbai.
