Sobha Developers (SOBDEVEL) is a real estate developer with income from residential and contractual projects. The company has 2,747 acres reserves (close to 70 per cent of it in Bangalore) and additional land arrangements, which are contractual, or on a joint development basis. The company was incorporated in Bangalore in 1995 by P.N.C. Menon who came to India with rich experience in fine interior decoration services. The company is a core player in the residential space and has completed over 25 projects in Bangalore. It has several divisions. Set up in 1999, Sobha Interiors Division more than exemplifies Sobha`s thrust on backward integration. Other divisions are Sobha Glazing and Metal Works (SGM); Sobha Concrete Products; Sobha Projects and Trade Division; Sobha Renaissance Information Technology; S&T Group, Oman; Indeset, UAE; and Gulf International Construction & Interiors Company (GICI), Qatar. It has a unique backward integration model whereby it is able to deliver a project right from conceptualization to completion. The model includes an architectural and design studio, concrete block-making plant, metal and glazing factory, and other divisions.
